This was a project in parternship with Artplan and Art Director Eric Ribeiro that we truly loved working on. For the very first time, we used the technique of training an AI model. The main challenge was to ensure that the backgrounds generated digitally would represent the Amazon rainforest vegetation with genuine authenticity.
To achieve this, our team traveled to the Amazon, where over three days we photographed a wide variety of leaves, trees, and plant species. This material became the foundation for training the AI, allowing us to create backgrounds with accuracy and richness of detail. Afterward, we carried out a careful curation process to select the best images, which were cut out and used as references for the AI training.
The portraits of the people were shot in studio, and the final integration of subjects and backgrounds was done in Photoshop.
This work was part of “Amazônia Live Hoje e Sempre”, an unprecedented partnership between Rock in Rio and The Town, aimed at highlighting the vital importance of preserving the Amazon rainforest for the balance of the global climate.
The result is a project we are truly proud of — authentic, innovative, and visually striking
